I keep wanting to write a secret about how much I hate depictions of Charles Dickens that cheerfully smooth over what an absolute knobhead he was, but it always devolves into a 500 word rant that I 100% would not wish to dump on this community.
[But Charles Dickens was a tosser who abused his wife horribly and had a creepy fixation on 17-year-old girls, JSYK]

I'm so angry from being stuck doing unpaid tech support for my family that I can't enjoy any fic today. I just want to be reading but I can't feel positive emotions because I'm filled with seething hatred.

And my phone battery is dying and it's 5 years old so I'll probably have to get a whole new phone. Another expense in this fucking economy. I just needed to vent.

I can't do today. Today is cancelled.

I wish a certain main character in my favorite webcomic would make a mistake or bad decision just once. During the latest updates it dawned on me that they're being written as if they were a how-to manual on the correct way to handle whatever situation they get stuck in. And the fandom always praises what a good person they are. It's getting annoying. All the other main characters are interesting and mess up in realistic human ways, but the most popular one is this boring beacon of model behavior.

The webcomic is popular enough to have a fandom but small enough that the writer is friends with most of the fandom, hence I don't want to make a real secret about it and risk outing myself, and secrets about unnamed fandoms never get comments anyway.

There's a person in my latest fandom who is most likely 12 at the oldest, and it's really noticeable because all the other active fans are adults. Every time I see them, I cringe, and then I think "wasn't I exactly like this? I was a 12-year-old on the internet too once." And then I realized that the difference is that, while I definitely was cringeworthy, I would hang out with other 12-year-olds who were almost as bad. That's why younger people are so easy to spot now: not because I'm older, but because my fandoms skew older, and I'm usually talking to adults, so a preteen sticks out a lot more.

Sometimes when I'm high, I watch a video of all the Doctor Who themes from different eras. The ones for Six and Seven are my favorites, but Seven's disembodied head really freaks me out.
