Glad we could serve as an excuse for your own low self-esteem and body image issues

I'm not saying OP is guiltless ("thanks FS, you inspired me to kill myself for the sake of being hot!!!"), but it is society's fault s/he is thinking that way. If a person wants to lose weight and look/feel better, fine, but people are such assholes to the overweight and society acts like it's perfectly okay with shit like "well if s/he doesn't wanna be made fun of s/he should get a better body!!!!".

So the tag was hilarious but the truth is asshattery? Huh...

Yes the media has a hand in sparking body image issues in most young women, and men for that matter, in the first place. Comments from cosplay elitists who will decry your costume as an atrocity if you have bad skin or are overweight don't help matters. However, what it all comes down to is the personal belief that there is something fundamentally wrong with you based on your appearance and only you can personally decide whether thats true or not. Blaming F!S for that is kinda dumb.

I didn't mean it to come off as though I was blaming F!S - that's not it at all. I just meant to say that I can look at some of the things I've seen here as a reminder as to what keeps me going. Sorry if it seemed like I was pushing my 'issues' on y'all. =)

I don't think it's an issue of blame here at all. But don't look at F!S as a place to remind you to keep going-- you need a better source of inspiration (good god, never use that phrase "thinspiration" again). Instead think about being healthy so you can have a great time when you go and cosplay. You can't BE healthy if you binge and purge or starve yourself.
