She is a boring one-note character that is supposed to be justified by a very specific flashback I can't relate to. Compared to Shinji and Rei, she practically learns nothing through the show.

PS Because nothing horribly traumatic happened in your childhood and you don't have a mental illness means you can never understand the character, apparently.

I understand the character. She is still a boring, one-note character defined by a single flashback and exposition rather than a good well-rounded character that develops through the story. Shinji's issues were better portrayed and he was a more complete character with plenty of traits and a more unique voice.

Uh, duh. He's the main character. Of course he's going to more realized and fleshed out, since Evangelion is his story, not the other pilots'.

Constructive... criticism? It's a secret about a character from a show over a decade old.

If you meant explaining hate and anger over Asuka, I personally despise her for being an obnoxious bitch who is obsessed with being the best and treats everyone else like dirt. Her issues are understandable, yes, but it doesn't excuse her bitchiness.
