Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah....that happens.
Try and write a few lines a day. Literally like five sentences or something, especially after you've been thinking about it. It might kick-start your desire to put it down on 'paper'.

Unless, of course, you just like the dreaming and don't care about the writing, in which case - have fun!

Of course you like daydreaming your ideas more than writing them. Writing, while fun, is also work -- but daydreaming is all fun. So your reaction is pretty normal.

If you want to get past that and write it for real, though, I'll +1 to [personal profile] tabaqui's advice. Try to get just a bit out each day.

I wouldn't be.

They've done studies about how people sometimes enjoy the anticipation of a thing more than the thing itself. It makes sense, the anticipation is all about the good parts, while the reality of it usually includes some boring, banal, or bad parts, even if taken as a whole, it's a good experience. But if you anticipate and then later do the thing, you get the anticipatory good feelings, the good feelings of doing the thing (even if it includes some bad parts), the good feelings of accomplishment, and later the good feelings of nostalgia (which tends to elide over any bad parts).

I know this is a few days old but I feel like I can relate to this.
