What? The video literally changed nothing. Do ya’ll have selective memory and don’t remember her going on stage on the grammy’s blasting Kanye saying he made her famous and let no man take away your fame (while ironically she’s surrounded by all her male producers lol)

Like Kanye is still trash and remains trash but stop rewriting history.

........so having a male producer means she couldn't have done this on with a female producer? I'm not following your train of thought here. She writes her own songs, and songs for other people; we got to see that in the documentary on Netflix.

I have no clue about this 'feud' other than bits and pieces, and I think KW is a fuckhead, but the woman does have natural talent.

Ummm considering this was during her peak white feminism era of 1989 yeah it was pretty side eye worthy she preached all girl power and then everyone on her team is male. That’s nothing to do with her talent and has to do with her turning it into a FEMINIST!!! Moment that fell flat.

Having zero knowledge of the moment, I can't judge.
And i have no clue what 'peak white feminism era' means. I'm not sure I knew she existed until about....2008 or something.

her peak white feminism era of 1989

Wait, what year is this a typo for? (Isn't she like...23? There's no way she was even born yet in 1989, let alone old enough to be preaching girl power.)

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
She was born in 1989, which is why she had an album named "1989", which is what anon is talking about

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
ayrt

Okay, didn't realize she was that old (not that I'm saying she's "old" or anything) but obviously she couldn't be preaching about feminism or whatever as a baby?

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
She was not preaching feminism as a baby. She was preaching feminism during the portion of her career during which she released the album 1989, which came out in 2014.

Ahhh, okay, sorry, I completely misinterpreted the comment.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
um... so Kanye says 'I made that bitch famous'... and Taylor says 'no he fucking did not'... and you think that somehow reflects badly on HER?

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you not watch the video where she was in on the joke and replied “lol clearly that’s not true but you do you kanye” and then went on her grammy’s speech?? Ya’ll the video and timeline is RIGHT there.

Found the misogynist.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-30 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. Stating facts is now misogynistic. Sounds on brand for swifties.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-31 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Jesus.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-31 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Like, given the full audio is basically him going, 'oh, I'm going to call you a bitch but that's all I'm totally not going to say anything else bad' and her going 'well that's okay then'? I feel like someone saying they're okay with Insult A, and then objecting to Insult B, is not so much being twofaced or whatever, as, like, being a fairly reasonable human being.

(Anonymous) 2020-03-31 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Except the complaint isn’t about the word bitch or insult. That wasn’t the initial narrative. The initial narrative was “how dare Kanye say he made me famous!!!” When the video clips came out THEN it became about the word bitch. Which Is fine and fair and totally valid but why not make that the story first? It would’ve fit in her nice little feminist narrative at the time about how slurs are still used and inappropriate. But that’s not the direction her and her team went until after the leaks. So yeah that’s pretty shady and unsurprising given how Taylor has previously handled all her feuds. Even non Kanye ones.
