ooh yeah I love the fireplace smell

this might be cliche but rose petals. I have that rose water facial mist stuff. Rose-scented soap is nice too. and rose tea...it's just so soothing.

Roses smell amazing. My mother always had some rose bushes, with pink, red, and yellow roses. They smelled *heavenly*. My sister and I used to get a...shampoo? Or lotion? It's been so long...called 'Roses Roses'. Loved that smell!

It's always so disappointing that roses from the florist/grocery have almost no smell at all.

Most of my roses don’t amount to much because I’m not great at caring for them and a lot of them need more sun than they’re getting, but almost all the ones I have, I bought by looking for high rated mail order nurseries and then getting whatever ones were listed as most strongly scented. I like getting roses on their own roots instead of grafted; they start out slower, but any runners they send up are the same plant and not an ugly rootstock.

My favorites are a red one I forgot the name of that doesn’t flower much but has amazing big fat roses with tons of petals when it does, and a white with a pink peachy blush climber called Madame Alfred Carriere that ate half the back wall of my house. As long as it gets water, it’s either blooming or working on making the next round of flowers.

Yes! My mom's roses were *not* fancy at all, but had ton and tons of petals and a lovely scent. I have no clue where she got them, but the didn't do the rootstock thing. This was back in the 70's/early 80's - she probably got them in the late 60's.....

Your Madame rose sounds amazing!
