I don't understand people obsessing over certain actors with bland personalities. Like... how?

Because "bland" is highly subjective. More positive adjectives that could describe what one person considers bland are easygoing, chill, nice, friendly, calming, mature... and so on.

This. More often than not I find that people use the word bland to describe whatever they dislike, and then expect everyone else to come to the same conclusion as if it's not their subjective opinion.

They use it so they can imply that people who like what they dislike are boring and unimaginative and then act offended when someone calls them on it. Hipster wannabes.

I think its very weird to judge an actor's personality. You don't actually know them and they are actors. Chances are their personalities in real life differ from what they seem like in interviews and the likes.
