I think she can embody all of these things - compelling yet also casually abusive - and still be someone fascinating. I get wanting more as well but I think the approach of us not knowing because Steven never gets to is also very valid. He's left with trying to figure out how to feel about her based on what he knows and it's an ever evolving opinion. We'll never truly see an adult Steven but I do wonder how that man would view his mother for sure
