(Anonymous) 2020-04-04 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)1. Kids could find it by accident.
2. Older kids, like idk, middle schoolers, will lie about their age so they can see adult content and will be psychologically damaged, so no one should post any adult content to protect them.
3. Pedophiles will use the content to groom kids so it shouldn't be created to protect them.
It's all puritanical pearl clutching.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-04 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)Funnily enough I am an example of number 1! :D
When we first got an internet connection at home I loved googling any random stuff I could think off because having all that information right there was so cool, you know?
So one day I decide to google Cardcaptor Sakura because I'd started watching the show on a local TV channel but then they moved it to an earlier time slot when I was still in class, so I couldn't watch it anymore and I wanted to know how it ended.
Long story short: my first contact with any sort of fanfiction was some horribly written story where 10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto gets raped by her dad and her older brother.
No content warnings, no age restriction at all. It was shocking and I was skeeved out by the whole thing, but it got me thinking that if such a thing existed then maybe there were other people writing different and better stories about TV shows and such out there.
I don't think I suffered any sort of long-lasting trauma, and in fact I suspect that "baptism by fire" made it so I wouldn't freak out too badly whenever I stumbled into the weirder corners of the internet.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-04 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)This had to have been 10+ years ago now but I once stumbled upon drawn incest porn of Hogarth and his mother from The Iron Giant while doing a Google image search of something completely unrelated. Grossed me rd out, I was an older teen at the time. Definitely wasn't damaged, though. It's funny to me now.
