I will read anything written by CJ Cherryh. And, in fact, have. A couple of her books aren't my favorites, but 99% of her output is incredible.
William Gibson as well - *love* love love.
Same for Tanith Lee.

Love Dick Francis and his steeplechase/jockey mysteries, and love most of Pratchett's stuff. Love Isak Dinesen and Rudyard Kipling and Laura Ingalls, love what I've read of Mary Renault.

So many more....i have shelves and shelves of things, heh.

Oh, yes, CJ Cherryh. You are the one who got me into her, I think. She's really great. I've only read Neuromancer of Gibson, but I liked it a lot.

I have lots of shelves of books too, though not as much as I used to. Had to get rid of a whole lot of stuff because we are downsizing. Just ordered a bunch more, though.

Yay!
So hard to find other Cherryh fans. What's your favorite of hers that you've read?

You should definitely read the whole Sprawl Trilogy - really excellent.

Yeah, i get rid of *some* stuff, from time to time, but.....
Gift cards at xmas! Yay! :D

I think I still like the Russian Stories trilogy best. That was my introduction to her stuff, and it mixes some things I really love (fantasy, mythology, Russian history) together.

I will put the other two on my list of things to buy from Amazon next (just did an order with the paycheck I got yesterday, so it will probably be a while, may not be until my July birthday).

Ooh, yes, those are excellent.

I love her fantasy but her Sci Fi is my absolute favorite. Have you tried 'The Dreamstone/Tree of Swords and Jewels' or the 'Fortress' series? Both are high fantasy, with magic and mythology.

Reading Gibson's cyberpunk stuff was a revelation to me. It really got me thinking in whole news ways about future stories, about characters, about a lot of things.

I've read Dreamstone and Tree of Swords and Jewels. I haven't read the Fortress series. Will put it on my list to check out.

Cool cool. :D I just re-read the Eald books, now I've switched to a Dick Francis mystery.

Gibson is phenomenal.

Without a shadow of a doubt the Burning Chrome collection is my most re-read book.

Burning Chrome is *so* good.
I can't think which i've read more. I've read Neuromancer, Count Zero, and Mona Lisa Overdive countless times, as well as Visible Light and Odoru.

He's published more that I don't have (money money money), but am plotting to get.
