Favorite Fanmixes/Fandom Trend Throwbacks

What are some of your favorite fanmixes (or 8track mix)?

Or general throwback that you used to enjoy in your Fandom that doesn't really happen these days (either the trend faded, the fandom died,etc.)?

I LOVED fanmixes. I love the "album cover" art, the tracklist (with the downloadable songs), and the fact I would hear new music! I always wanted to make one, but I never mustered up the time or courage to do so. I guess I can always list a playlist with a fic, but shrug.


What about you, F!S?

I rarely listen to fanmixes but I had a lot of fun creating them when 8tracks was still alive. I tried doing some on Spotify but my taste in music doesn't seem to correspond with the songs available on Spotify most of the time...

The Hetalia fandom on both LJ and Tumblr were a godless mess, but they did some really good fanmixes back then. There were some good variety between just for laughs to genuinely lovely playlists. I know I found out about Emilie Autumn through a FrUk fanmix with her song 'Juliet Olde Remix' and Garfunkel and Oats 'Fuck You'.

It's been so long I can't think of any favorites off the top of my head, but hell yeah, I miss fanmixes so much. (Not 8track mixes, though, I just found those an inferior replacement for fanmixes.)

There was a Handsome Jack playlist that matched his soundbites with brilliant musical counterparts, and fit him to a tee. Like my favourite one has to be his talk after the mission with Mordecai and Bloodwing and Jack goes on about playing a violin and they piece it with a brilliant piece of music that has a starts with an amazing swell from a violin.
I can't find it right now, but I can get the link by tomorrow. (hopefully... and like seriously, it's worth a good listen even if you aren't familiar with the series.)
