All I remember about Chakotay is that in highschool my bff hated him, to the extent that in an episode where something falls down and hits him on the head, she rewound and played that bit about twenty times and laughed.
I can't personally comment, however, as I was never much of a Voyager fan in general. Next gen for me was always where it was at! :)
