Frankly he's my favorite version of Lan Wangji and that's including the book version. The small shifts in his eyes and face said so much about the character's feelings while still appearing stoic, I was amazed when I learned this was one of his first acting roles.

Wang Yibo is also pretty good in Love Actually (nothing to do with the British movie) where he plays a spoiled rich brat who owns his own gaming company. His character gradually grows up and he's great at it, including the comedic parts. I can't wait to see him in more stuff!

Forgot to add that I like the book version of Lan Wangji, but the television version is what really brings his character alive for me. You just get so much more of what's going on inside his head because you can actually see LW's facial expressions.
