I honestly find the 'Biden is old and losing it' thing from Bernie supporters so weird because even if Biden is incoherent are you suggesting that Trump...isn't also incoherent? I've seen people handwringing about how Biden will get beaten in the debates because of this, apparently everyone's forgotten how Hillary easily outdid Trump in every debate and still lost. It just seems like such a weird argument that people won't vote for *this* guy who can't form a decent complete sentence so they'll instead vote for this other guy who can't form a decent complete sentence and who is also a racist and keeps kids in cages.

I wish Bernie and Biden supporters understood that pissing on the supporters of the other candidate isn't going to earn them votes. If it's more important to them to get their guy in office than it is to beat the orange turd, then they're going to screw themselves, and then the rest of the country. But if they can agree that the latter is more important, then like it or not, they need each other to make it happen. Enough division - that's what the current administration wants.

I will vote for Biden and I think he would make a demonstrably better president than Trump. I don't think that can be questioned.

I also think he's an egregiously shitty candidate and it's incredibly frustrating how centrist Democrats lecture left Democrats about electability while rallying around *this* candidate. And I think that's largely what the frustration is about - not that Biden would not be a better president than Trump, but that he would be a much worse president than Bernie (or many other potential nominees), and he would also be much more vulnerable to losing an election, and then if he does lose the Democrats are going to blame the left of the party again, and any criticism that you make of centrist dems will still get dismissed with "if you don't like Biden, clearly you support Trump", and don't tell me that's not what people say because you said it in this post.

And believe me, I have issues with Bernie supporters as well, but I get the frustration in this respect.

My apologies for poor wording, I didn't mean 'if you don't like Biden you support Trump.' For the record, I don't care much for Biden either and I voted for Bernie in my state's primary (though my preferred candidate was Warren, she'd dropped out by then). It's more this is what I've seen Bernie supporters say about Biden in regards to the appeal to independent/swing voters, that because Biden don't speak so good clearly the swing voters will choose Trump instead even though he's far more incoherent and also a terrible person. It's definitely frustrating to have Biden voters claiming those who still want Bernie are Trump supporters or that Bernie should just drop out, but I'm also finding it frustrating how many Bernie supporters I've seen claim that Biden can't possibly win and only Bernie can save us as if Trump hasn't got the same weaknesses they're attributing to Biden.

I'm also not convinced that Biden is more vulnerable to losing an election than Bernie, considering the amount of voters who have been convinced that socialism is a dirty word.

And also Bernie’s ongoing dismissal/derision of black southern voters would all but guarantee his loss in the general. Bernie succeeds in California and in the very whitest states we’ve got. That’s not good enough to get him to the finish line.
