Not really. I can't really think of a show where the overarching serial plotline was my primary interest. I mostly engage with shows on an episode-to-episode basis, and I care a lot more about whether a given episode is good than I do about the overarching storylines. A lot of my favorite shows have godawful ends, and I just don't watch that part. Even really good, really serialized shows - the fifth season of The Wire is not good and I still love that show.

I also don't really mind stopping reading books in the middle to be perfectly honest with you.
