I'm not sure I ever had a hymen, so it's like... what the fuck are they talking about. Me, the ancient virgin, is like... the hell is this bullshit.

Yeah, I've never had sex either, but I've used a vibe a few times and although it hurt, there was no blood or anything like that.

I've heard that some people who are highly physically active as kids can essentially break, or at least stretch out the hymen to the point that it's no longer something that will tear during penetration.

I was a very physically active kid. Maybe that's what happened. *shrugs*

Likewise. There wasn’t anything I didn’t climb, plus martial arts... I suppose that would take care of that. XD

you likely do, but the hymen isn't what is described in a lot of books.

it's a ring of muscle that sits just inside the vagina, it has various different looks, but overall it should never hurt, bleed or rip during PiV sex. it might sting ever-so-slightly the first time you have sex or if it's been a while, but that's simply from the muscle not being 'exercised' if you will.

but it doesn't like, cover the vagina entrance because if it did you'd need to have it surgically cut because of menstruation. dead tissue inside you bad.

you can't 'break' it either, because it's not a fully in-tact thing. it's just there, chillin' mostly.

you can't 'break' it either, because it's not a fully in-tact thing.

I mean, that depends on your definition of 'break.' Just because it isn't a seal that needs to be broken for penetrative sex, doesn't mean it can't tear when something shoves past it - and it often does.

it should never hurt, bleed or rip during PiV sex.

Admittedly, tearing is often completely avoidable, and only happens because society is awful to women and doesn't teach men to slow the fuck down and fucking prep her adequately, you jerk.

But sometimes even with a lot of prep it still hurt quite a bit the first time, depending on the person.

I'm very much in favor of teaching young people the truth: that a bottom's first time often doesn't have to hurt, and that you can likely avoid tearing the hymen with enough prep. But it varies a lot, person to person. People are built differently.

Personally, I prepped myself hella thoroughly before my first time with a dildo, and it still hurt like a mofo. OTOH, back door is a piece of cake for me. Literally, no prep needed. And plenty of people will tell you you have to prep like crazy for anal. Everybody's different.

Yep, same. For some people, no matter how into it you are and how much prep you do, it's still going to hurt no matter what. For other people, it won't hurt much if at all. It just comes down to the individual person.
