What does that even mean? Deserved to be destroyed by an atomic bomb?

Dresden wasn’t bombed with an a-bomb

No shit. I said that a better analogy to what Dany did would be the atomic bombs being dropped on Japan.

Some rando said "Germans deserved it more". Deserved WHAT more? I was talking about the atomic bomb so I can only assume that.

You brought up Japan as a comparison after Daenerys’s attack was compared to the bombings of Dresden (which the writers actually admitted was their inspiration).

Yes. I was arguing that the atomic bombs are a better comparison. I don't give a shit what the writers say. They are morons.

Dany basically nuked a whole city AFTER she had won the battle. There was no reason for her to do it. The same goes for the atomic bombs. The allied victory over Japan was a certainty. There were no good reasons to destroy it. The amount of deaths were even similar (25,000 in Dresden, 200,000+ in Japan, and around 300,000 in King's Landing).

If Anne Frank bombed Nazi Germany after they surrendered, I wouldn’t blame her either

Except Anne Frank wouldn't because she wasn't a monster like Dany. :D

The comparison doesn't hold up either because the people of Westeros didn't personally persecute and oppress Dany. Anyone who wanted her dead for being a Targaryen were dead themselves long before she invaded Westeros. She's the aggressor, not the victim lashing out at people who hurt her.

Cersei had just killed Rhaegal and Missandei.

Gregor, who bashed baby Aegon against a wall before raping his mother, was also still around.

LOL, and if Dany had given one solitary fuck about Elia and her kids, I could buy that as a reason for vengeance. But she never did, never even mentioned them once, so nah. (And in the books, she even thinks of Elia with vague contempt, but that's admittedly not revelant here.) And she was already planning to firebomb Cersei as soon as she landed in Westeros, way before Rhaegal and Missandei's deaths. And even all that is irrelevant to the point upthread, which is that the people of King's Landing didn't persecute Daenerys, and she killed them anyway.
