I would guess from the title that it's not very accurate, unless they're using "LGBTQA" to mean just the "T" part. The other queer representation that was there was good. If they have a problem with the predatory lesbian stalker, I think that's bullshit because there was also a healthy lesbian couple and a predatory straight stalker, so there's no implication that all lesbians and only lesbians are predatory.

I got banned from a community for lesbians for starting a conversation about how hard it is to get good reproductive health care when all our options revolve around pregnancy prevention and not actually alleviating issues with irregular and painful periods, and how quickly you're dismissed from even getting those options if you aren't having sex with men.

From the replies: Women's health is transphobic now. Referring to myself as a woman is transphobic and I must call myself a uterus owner. Implying that there are women who do not have PIV sex is transphobic. Discussing periods is transphobic. Being negative about periods is harming people who wish they could have periods. I deserve to be raped and get the wall for causing suicide because transgender people kill themselves because of lesbians who use invalidating language. I am scum. I am a murderer. Etc, etc.

I was curious to see if gay men have to deal with similar reactions to talking about men's health. Searched their entire community, even searched the term FTM and only found people stating that their sexual preference was men, not FTM. No one was accused of being transphobic, no one was told to change their language about their own bodies, no one was told they had a genital fetish and needed to try harder.

NAYRT—it’s not “validation” to treat people as the gender/sexuality etc they say they are; it’s common fucking courtesy and basic politeness. Notice how no one’s claiming you’re not a lesbian even while they insult you? And “wanting to exclusively date other AFAB (which is presumably what you meant) people doesn’t make you a bigot any more than, idk, having a thing for redheads. But who you personally want to fuck/date=/= who is worthy of advocacy. Trans women are women even if you personally don’t want to date them.

Eh, I think that author makes some decent points but I'm not sure they watched the series to the end? Dahlia's presentation may be problematic but I feel like this one runs way too close to 'because this character is queer they must have no faults' -- she's the classic stage mom representation and it's shown very clearly at the end that despite everything Angela still loved her. And as for Desmond and the whole 'shows up only to die' thing...again, they might want to rewatch that last episode.

And if you're going to complain about how 'all trans characters are presented as violent' it's worth noting that *a lot* of characters in the anime show violent tendencies. Yes, Tuesday gets a lesbian stalker...but Angela gets a male stalker, and there isn't really any major het romance in the series to counteract that either. The Mermaid Sisters threaten to attack the judges sure, but this is also the series where the girls meet their producer when he comes running at them with an axe telling them to stop playing their 'shit music.' I just don't buy that the queer characters are treated any differently or worse than the rest of the cast.
