Ohh that sounds so aggravating.

I ship a LOT of rarepairs in a lot of small fandoms, and it's hard when there's not a lot of content, but I'd take my 'two people write for this really well and that's it' over someone acting like putting out a bunch of AU 'imagines' represents the greatest contribution. Even when those things aren't OOC, sometimes the canon setting is an important part of what makes a fandom special! And sometimes a ship's canon history is a huge part of why they WORK together. Taking that away in favor of another coffeeshop can leave a real hollow feeling. And when characters go through specific things in the canon time period, sometimes any modern AU is GOING to feel OOC!

Yeah I wouldn't even mind the OOC AUs all that much if she didn't pretend that she is now more or less the the one and only BNF authority in charge of the ship whom everyone agrees with. Even without the AUs, I do feel she gets a lot about them wrong/looks at it from a very one-sided "This guy is all flawlessly good and this one is evil" POV that annoys me.
