I've never seen this ship frowned upon before. Despite drabbling it once or twice, I don't really have much interest in it myself - but I don't have anything against it either. Most people love it. You should ask for recs around

tfiwts. And there's an LJ comm for the pairing itself, if I remember right! ~~My partner wrote a short, amusing ficlet for the pairing I'd rec - but it's in Animated-verse and I'm not sure if that's your taste.~~

Light deserves to be hit with a sledgehammer, indeed. Lots of this kind are written to be portrayed as witty/clever/cunning but they just end up looking like major obnoxious douchebags/assholes.

Poor OP. That's precisely why I've kept my Wolfram/Yuuri lovin' self OUT of KKM fandom. My roommate warned me of the Wolfram vs Conrad wars and I said "self, don't get involved in that. At least, the first two times I saw it. I kept losing to Liquid and his goddamn REX and every time I started over I sat through that scene every single time because I didn't want to skip any cutscenes for some dumb reason I can't remember at the moment. Urgh I have the opposite reaction. Maybe it's just that I find Kristen Chenoweth annoying, but she grates on my nerves. And I want her to put her cleavage away most of the time. I don't think Chuck is super likable - she does do wrong things and can be sneaky etc - but she's relatable, I think, and has a really interesting viewpoint.

Yes, you're absolutely right. Your anime/manga fandom somehow compares, dilligently, to the real life these people are living, and is the answer to the biological need to procreate after they feel once they've established a real, real-life,real-real,living and breathing couple, were they male or female.
And that's not to mentioning how much more sacrifice there is in your designated fandom, in comparison to what these peole are doing, just to have a kid to raise.
