It’s okay to be sad, OP. I was really looking forward to seeing MCR and going to the Hella Mega tour, but neither of those things are gonna happen this year, so I’m sad as hell about it. I’m just gonna think of this year as the year that everything’s either cancelled or on hold.

Your feelings are valid. Everyone is sad about missing out on something. Don't feel guilty for it. I would bet money that everyone here feels disappointed about something being cancelled. I just look at it this way, we do what we do now to deal with this virus and then we won't have to have a major round of this again in a couple of months.

aw i'm sorry op. i was bummed at a number of things i was looking forward to getting cancelled or when lucky "postponed indefinitely". i hope you can go next year, or maybe even go to another fun con before then <3

Comment but not secret OP here and this hit extra hard because not only do I love attending the con, I live here and revenue from con related stuff (hotel taxes, money spent at local businesses by attendees, etc) is actually a not-insignificant part of the city’s budget. Comic-Con’s cancellation (along with SD Pride, iirc) means projected budget cuts go from 12 to 16 percent. Park and Rec and libraries, arts funding, grant programs, and things like that were already gonna take a huge hit from the reduction in tourist revenue generally. Now it’s worse.

I'm upset as well, OP. Pretty much 2020 is canceled at this point and it's been a very hellish year in the very same vein as 2016. I was looking forward to 2020 to be that year but considering the circumstances beyond our control (especially in the political side of things), this is highly unlikely.

In particular, I just wanted to see Mulan and No Time to Die, as well as enjoying convention month and Record Store Day.

Same, OP. Cons are the only time of the year I get to see some of my friends, so it hurts to know that I won't get to see them at all until next year at the earliest. It's a real bummer.

While I don't go to SDCC, all my local cons have been cancelled (except those months away but I doubt they are going through when the time comes) and I normally spend my spring preparing costumes and redecorating with my new merch; but now...
