I love that we're getting more LGBT rep in more shows, but I absolutely hate how hyper-critical the fans of those shows always end-up being with that content, if it's not ~perfect then it has to be thrown out or burned at the stake. And like I get people wanting Good content with our rep, but at the same time it feels like nothing will ever be 'good enough', the gay-couple/content must be nit-picked to death for any and all faults instead of just... enjoying it. I understand being angry when shows fuck-up and do something harmful, but most of the time I just see people getting angry at a gay-couple not doing every tiny thing fans wanted on some invisible check-list.

And I'm just... tired of it. I'm tired of fans ruining their own fun with canon-gay and blaming the show when it's their own fault for over-nitpicking some silly C-list show. I'm tired of relationships like my own being held to a much higher standard than any het-couple or fanon-gay ship and being discarded for missing a single point on the list, while het+fanon ships can be literally abusive and praised by the fanbases.

Our content shouldn't have to be Perfect and Flawless just to be allowed the right to exist at all.
