Considering the people in question haven't hit 20 yet and the characters they are talking about are fictional and usually look older than the age they're actually meant to be anyway, forgive me if I'd rather they didn't compare themselves constantly to real life child predators.

So when they hit 20, will it be ok? Does age matter? The characters are still underage, so if they were real, it would be illegal.

I have no problem with people fapping to whatever they want. But if someone liked, I don't know, watching FICTIONAL CHARACTERS IN PAIN and someone called them an "sadist" as a joke, would you be all up in their face about dictionary definitions because all IRL sadists are bad people;;;

It's not about it being illegal. I've already said about the definition of paedophilia. I'm not from the US, so while we do have an age of consent, we don't have statutory rape in quite the same sense you do in the US. Perhaps that's why we're so much more crazy over 'pedos'.

I get that it's meant as a joke, and I'm not waving a dictionary around and bashing heads with it, but this pedo thing is everywhere and I've just got sick of it, because every time I see it I wince. If I hear the word or similar in RL it's never, ever a joke. You can call your mate a fag all you want but call him a pedo and you're looking for a broken nose, and I haven't, so far, been able to make the transition from 'RL talk' to 'internet talk' over the issue. And I don't think I ever will.

So I carry on wincing, and not saying anything, but I felt like getting a bit of weight off my chest so I made a secret.

Must be a location thing, if someone called me a pedo out loud here (in the US), I'd just laugh etghektjh and most people I know here probably would too -- I mean it's like calling someone a rapist or a childtoucher, it's just kinda ridiculous and lol -- but then, I know people who would punch their friends for calling them a fag, so...

fag is a derogatory term for a homosexual, so unless you are comparing gay people to child rapists why don't you shut your flap already
