Re: Insomnia, anxiety, exhaustion

i try not to eat or drink anything just before bed. like, it's okay to drink some water and eat a banana or something if you're hungry but i stay away from snacks that are sugary, salty or fatty. i like to have at least a few hours between my last meal and bedtime so that i'm not dealing with indigestion or reflux which can often feel like anxiety. i try to avoid foods with chocolate or caffeine in them before bed as well. and pistachios. stay the fuck away from pistachios at night.

another good thing to do is spend 30 minutes to an hour before bed doing something calming. turn off the phone/computer and just listen to some music in a dark room. i don't know how active you are at night but doing any kind of exercise too close to bedtime will probably keep you up. stretches are okay.

if possible, maybe try fitting in some light exercise/yoga sometime during the day. it might help you sleep better at night.
