If you personally don't want to express negative feelings about things, that's fine. A bit odd in my book, but we're all odd here.

But I don't agree at all with the suggestion or the imputation that someone who does want to express negative feelings is doing something wrong, or being rude, or being an asshole just by virtue of saying they dislike something.

This^

If someone is negative all the time, I can choose not to associate with them. If someone is negative about something I love and that bothers me, I can choose not to associate with them.

They're allowed to be negative. Their negativity is valid. It may not be my cup of tea, but it's valid. (Or hey, their negativity might be my cup of tea. In fact, sometimes someone else expressing their negativity is all I really need in order to feel like I'm not alone in feeling how I feel. I might heart their post and no longer feel the need to create one of my own. Now there's only half as much negativity out there, because agreeing with their self-expression was all the catharsis I needed.)
