I don't really think much about authors so I don't get upset if die, on a personal level, but I agree with the sentiment of this secret. The old authors are showing their age and new authors just aren't as good, whether in terms of quality and/or quantity.

I've been enjoying Jane Casey's Maeve Kerrigan series but the way she's been writing it, it feels like it ought to be wrapped up within a few books and not be a long-running series the way Bosch is.

Tana French seems to have run out of steam already.

Plenty of other authors I've tried haven't even enticed me to read a second book of theirs. I have a long to-read list but I don't feel hopeful that my next fave is on it.
