I've never watched The Office, I've just seen lots of clips posted by fans, and Jim always comes off as a smug jerk to me - and like, a lot of these clips are being posted by people who claim to be fans of his, so it's not like I'm watching a supercut of 'every time this character was a dick' and going 'obviously this character is a huge dick'.
