THANK YOU. You've explained it better than I could.
In a perfect world I wouldn't give a fuck about it but we have to acknowledge that our sexist society puts a lot of pressure on women to look a certain way. And I think plastic surgery is part of a vicious circle. Society implicitly tells you should have a smaller nose/bigger breasts/flat stomach/etc, so you do it and million of other girls will see you and feel like shit about themselves. It's especially fucked up because people always ask for the same things. There's nothing diverse about it, it's just western beauty standard. I saw a documentary on plastic surgery in Korea and it's fucking sad & terrifying that 1 out of 3 women changed their faces (mostly nose and "western" eyelids) to have a better life. I don't blame them because there's a lot of pressure on them but this shit has got to change. You're incredibly naive if you think plastic surgery has anything to do with freedom and empowerment.

Of course it's possible she might have done it for medical purposes but come on...She would talk about it freely if it was the case. I don't think people realize how many celebrities have changed their faces/bodies...

And by the way, I never said she couldn't be feminist. I said I was annoyed other people saw her as a "feminist HERO".
