I was also a kid who wasn't allowed stuff that other kids were-- mostly music, actually, such that I still feel pretty lost when it comes to music/pop culture and self-conscious about the fact that I haven't heard of any of the artists of bands that "everybody" knows.

But, what are you gonna do, my parents are good people and not having interacted with the same media as other kids isn't the end of the world.
