Nope. The Phantom was a lonely, deformed creep who never blew up a planet: he wasn't a hot billionaire like Christian Grey, and he wasn't an evil space-Nazi like Kylo Ren.

Also, I shipped Reylo. I never shipped Phantom-Christine, though I did think he was hot in the 1990 TV version.

He did murder several people though. Not on the scale of Kyle Ron, but he was still a murderer.

These are irrelevant differences. I think what the OP means is that they're all relationships between a "nice" girl and a fucked-up guy, and therefore controversial because they're "abusive" and people think that shipping them means you want an abusive relationship with a fucked-up guy.
