If she has a good relationship with her parents, I don't quite understand why you'd feel sorry for her. It's not the same thing, but I didn't get to watch a lot of cartoons that were popular during the '90s and early '00s because we didn't have cable. I also didn't grow up listening to music like The Beatles or Pink Floyd because my parents were from a different country. I always thought it was really bizarre that people felt sorry for me and thought I missed out on something great just because I didn't grow up watching Rugrats and never heard a Beatles song until I high school.
