Not to me, but sexiness is subjective and context is important. There are a lot of labels that might seem sort of silly or odd or bland outside of an intimate situation, but are fine within it.

and elderly folks (who are lovely, but it just doesn't conjure up sexy thoughts).

To be fair, most words that pertain the the rear end make me feel unsexy.

When reading fic, I can only deal with the words "ass" (in passing), "bottom" (also in passing), and "backside/rear" (Acceptable).

IMO, no. Because it sounds like it refers to an animal, or worse "rumpy pumpy" which is sooooooo unsexy even if it's a sexual term.

I think it can be. I'd tentatively mark myself as down with it. That said, I think it has much more limited usage than 'ass.' Like, saying a character fucked another character in the rump doesn't really work, imo.

I think it's that I think of a rump as basically the glute muscles part of the ass. It's an "on the body" thing, not an "in the body" thing. So any form of phrasing that implies someone's rump is being fucked just doesn't really scan for me. However, a rump can be fucked against, or angled up to facilitate fucking.
