i don't think anybody is saying this is abuse lol but more along the lines of, hearing somebody so casually say their parents cut them off from the harmless activities/pop culture that most kids enjoy is kinda messed up.

i'm from a country where it's illegal for parents to homeschool without some kind of masters in education so shrug emoji
