i'm a little bit in this place, too. all of the fandoms i like enough to naturally want to create fanworks for are kind of at a lull now. and i'm content w it. i sometimes even enjoy that things are a bit quieter now. but it's definitely different than the majority of my life in fandom spaces that i was rly used to!

Yeah but I think I'm just getting old and times change.

Plus I've never liked anime or video games and it seems like those are really the fandoms that get the heat these days. So it goes.

I was that way for years too. I was into a lot of shows, but not producing fanworks for any of them. Then I fell in love with a ship and I wrote my first fic in fifteen years. It was nice to find out I could still get inspired by the right ship.

I haven't really been into fandom since it moved away from LJ all those years ago. I want to come back, but I'm such a homebody and the fandoms I love are kind of dead or even smaller than they used to be.

Feels bad.

Yeah, I've been feeling that way recently. I've dove headfirst back into some old fandoms I still know and love. If only to see and read new content I might have missed since the last time I checked back... but then again I'm more of a consumer than a creator these days. I guess I'd still suggest looking back at old loves of yours to see if some spark reignites your spark to write and create!
It's almost like some kind of out of body experience, I find, when your body wants to create by habit, but your mind can't find a single thing to draw inspiration from... It's definitely a sucky situation indeed.

Hopefully you find something that catches your interest soon OP! <3

Same here; finished up a novel-length fanfic in Jan 2017 and that apparently blew out all my fandom circuits. I've written one-off pinch hits in various fandoms since, but there's no fire anymore.

100% with you. After nearly a decade of sustained fandom hopping, I lost interest with my last ship and just haven't found another to jump to.

I've resorted to reading BTS fics solely because there are so many so I can kinda ignore the RPS because I only read magic or sci fi based ones but I'm not super into it.

I kind of get this. Sometimes when I'm between fandoms I'll go back to one of my past fandoms and just read fics/look through fan art - but I'll seldom feel like making anything for them.

But when there's no fandoms and I have an urge to draw, I kind of want to scream.
