Agreed. Emma is exactly as accomplished as a young woman of her station ought to be. Arguably, she's got more responsibilities than most wealthy young women because she's also mistress of Hartfield and takes care of her invalid father.

When people talk about a character being a man child, they're referring to someone who is chronologically an adult, but behaves like a child - that slobby frat bro who's never done his own laundry, can't cook, can't handle his adult responsibilities, etc.
