Now days though the real concern is if the reboot/adaptation will bring back ancient wank those of us that have been around the block a few times already had to deal with and will have to deal it yet again.

An example that comes to mind for me is that Beetlejuice musical that came out within the last couple years. Hoo, boy, has that apparently brought some wank to that fandom. And in that fandom's case, before then, it was pretty wank-free (or at least, there weren't the kinds of outlets for public wank back in the day that there are now).
