Right?! I'm honestly not even particularly mad. I don't care enough about being "called out" to get up in arms about this. But I can't believe the entire comments section is just gonna sleep on this one. This place haaaaates call-out culture.

Like...did y'all just not read to the end of the secret, or...?

"Call out culture" and "I want to tell people that the pair they ship aren't good to each other" are not even remotely the same thing

What I'm seeing in the secret is clearly the former.

I quote: "I know I should call out this bullshit."

There is no difference between this and calling people out for woobifying a villain, or writing a romantic fic for an underage/adult pairing, or any of the other "that's not accurate to canon" ways that people like to construct their headcanons.

Calling someone out because you don't like the way they headcanon something is call-out culture, plain and simple.

OP

I'm not planning to make a list of "bad shippers" or single out people and shame them lol (even though it's annoying as fuck to see an entire fandom ignore issues). That show is actually praised for its writing so I thought that I could point out that MAYBE bullying isn't funny or cute...

You're right. The former is actually harmful, the latter is just immature and rude.
