I'm into pretty boys too. But I usually pick ones that are actually pretty and relatively feminine in appearance in canon (femboy rights!). I don't really like changing any character's appearance at all unless it's for AU purposes (like giving them fangs for a vampire AU).

Honestly my favorite type of M/M ship is two pretty boys together where one isn't the top or the bottom but they both switch.

But yeah part of the reason why I dislike changing a characters appearance or anything from canon is that you get attached to the idea of them you made up and disappointed whenever you engage with the source material or run into other fancontent that depicts them as they are in canon. I think a of of wank surrounding headcanons and such ends up being because of this.

I feel like in western live action (which is my niche) there just aren't many pretty boys. I mean, there are men who are masculine in a slightly pretty way. But not very many who are just out and out pretty.

Especially since the trend right now seems to be muscles and gymsporation, so even guys who start off slim and pretty often bulk up once they start to get successful (and often the muscle gain shows in their face as well.)

Yep, that sums it up. I definitely try to keep myself in check, though. Like, I headcanon what I want, but I really try not to confuse my headcanon with canon.
