I have a huge, HUGE squick for the fluid inside the mouth (I can't even say certain words or just typing this will set off my gag reflex, so please forgive the ridiculous substitution speak) and the act of expelling it. The reason I haven't seen the movie the Breakfast Club is because the only time I ever saw a single clip of it, a character was expelling his gum* into the air with his mouth and catching it, and that's all I can associate with that film. I can't think about anything else about the movie without gagging really badly, and there's no way I can ever even try to watch it. And sometimes I wonder how it got so popular if there's such a disgusting scene in it. My squick might be overly extreme, but there's tons of people who think it's gross in general. Uuuuuugh. Don't think about it don't think about it don't think about it don't think

*At least I'm choosing to believe it was gum and not just the fluid. If it was just the fluid, for god's sake, DON'T TELL ME.

......it got popular 'cause it spoke to a lot of people and in general is a good movie for us 80's kids.

'That scene' happens once and is basically forgotten. I guess...i'm sorry your squick is so ingrained you could potentially miss a lot of stuff that's pretty cool.

'Breakfast Club' certainly isn't do-or-die, and you'll never *suffer* from not seeing it, but it has some fun moments and some quotes that people use that evoke a whole mood, or moment, or set of information, so....missing a *teeny* bit of something.

da

Yeah I didn't even remember that scene, but then again I've seen the movie only once and that was years ago
