Uh, people have been getting Elf ears (and horns and all manner of other body modifications) for literally decades. It...really means nothing at all, to me.

Just because something is common doesn't mean it's not objectionable to someone. Wedgies have been around for as long as people have been wearing underwear and they're still pretty annoying.

Someone voluntarily modifying their body (especially in such an unobtrusive way as pointed ears) is hardly equivalent to them coming up to you and causing deliberate physical discomfort to you specifically.
