I post as I go because I need engagement with people to keep myself motivated. Writing a WIP without sharing it with anyone feels like screaming at a wall. I don't have an inner circle to share my work with as beta readers or whatever so whoever happens to read it on Ao3 is it for me. It feels really lonely to spend a lot of time writing something without sharing it until the entire thing is done. I only do that with one-shots for obvious reasons.
