...As a het fan and history junkie who was going to look up Hetalia too see what the fuss was about, I've feel like I've lost interest partly because of stuck up, "bawwww yaoi is picked on by those prejudiced evil het fans baaaaw" pricks like you that probably are all over that fandom. So thank you, and kindly stfu. I doubt if it was full of hetro ships Hetalia would escape all the accusations of it being offensive. Isn't the main issue about misleading historical facts and making light of atrocities anyhow?

First of all, you don't know me. Second of all, that whole paragraph was about shipping. I don't doubt Hetalia would get some unwarranted shit anyway. But the OP said "making countries gay", nothing about shipping countries in general then I wouldn't say anything other "people ship other countries all the time". It's OBVIOUS that the OP has issues with the gay in the series and the slash fandom.

Besides, people DO bitch about slash way more than het.

WELL GOOD FOR YOU, I'M SO HAPPY YOU'RE SO ACCEPTING. Doesn't excuse you for anything just because you happen to like all of them. It's possible to like one thing more then the other and still be biased against a particular ship. So frankly, I'm not impressed by your ~*LOVE FOR ALL SHIPPING PAIRS*~

Look, all I'm saying is Het gets just as much flak as slash. I'm not saying slash DOESN'T get any at all. If anything, Femslash gets the right to bitch about there not being enough of it for their fans. You like slash? Awesome, but don't bitch about "OMG HET NEVER GETS RAGGED ON!!111". It does.

I don't where you've been about in my experience, slash do get more shit. If a het fan says "ICKY ICKY GAY", she wouldn't get as much shit as someone "ICKY ICKY HET". Hell, this secret is a perfect example of that.

I never said het doesn't get ragged on, but it doesn't on the same level as BL. Actually go outside of LJ for a change.

Lol, I do get out. Hell, I've been with my friends in Barnes and Noble and there were these girls in the manga section talking about pairings (can't remember for which series) and they all agreed het was boring and yaoi was the only thing acceptable. I rolled my eyes and waited for my friends to get some mangas and leave (couldn't buy any myself because I had no money on me after the movie, I love popcorn and candy too much, woe D: )

Maybe we just have different experiences of annoying fans? I am sorry I've been rude to you, it's just these "My kink gets more crap then your's!" battles irritate the fuck out of me. From BOTH het and slash sides of fandom. Lets just love our pairings and leave things be.

As for the secret maker...yeah, I just read his/her comments a few pages later and he/she may be one of those "ICKY ICKY YAOI" people, but not all of us het fans (or whatever that person is in to) are. Like how not all slash fans hate women and het or whatever.

We can call a truce. I dunno, I get razzed on by my IRL friends who knows I like BL, but not fans of it themselves. I don't mind it most of the time, although it irks me when they forget I like het too. And that I've been in many a debate defending people who are just awful to BL fangirls and the occasional secret that paints fujoshi as tasteless fans who would get into a fandom for the buttsex and the bishies. But I have defended het too from the crazed yaoi fans but rarely.

I know all het only fans aren't all "ICKY ICKY YAOI" people as well since all my IRL friends don't care for it but don't go on a rampage about it. But this secret had a issue with the countries being gay not being shipped in general. I would've said something different. And it seems like the OP had an issue with the BL saying "it might improve the quality of the fandom" if it were all het ships.

As somebody who doesn't tend towards either het or slash (I-I really like gen!), may I throw in my two cents?

BOTH sides get flak: Yaoi/slash because of its growing popularity and the fact that yaoi-exclusive fans are stereotyped as brainless fangirls, and het because by its very nature it must be anti-homosexual and het-exclusive fans are stereotyped as brainless intolerant fangirls.

So I can understand you both feeling as if your veiwpoint is constantly being attacked! Because both totally are. >__>;;
