Yeah, I'm rewatching Community right now, and I find myself repeatedly wishing they'd just actually kick him out of the group for good.

The fact that they manage to work through their issues with each other and find common ground is generally a testament to their positive qualities, IMO. But that's not true of Pierce. The fact that they didn't wash their hands of Pierce early on really speaks to how neurotic they all are; they don't have enough personal clarity to realize the obvious fact that Pierce is profoundly toxic and has no intention of ever bettering himself.

It's incredibly frustrating to watch they give up ground to him over and over again, after he's deliberately done something cruel with the express purpose of hurting them.
