Yeah I'm not typically picky about fic, but this does get to me. It kinda takes me out of the moment, especially if they swear too much and inappropriately.

The only exceptions I might make would be for anime crossovers just because it would be weird to choose between Japanese cultural notes vs. historical western ones. I just kinda treat it like an AU.

For these I always treat it as Blank But They're In Blank Historical Clothing Now. I think these AUs can be fun but I never, for once, even entertain the idea the writer did any research or cares about being accurate.
