Great plot, great pairing but then...first person.

If everything else about a first person fic checks out, I will give it a chance. I have read a few excellent first person fics in my time. But I'm certainly never happy to discover a fic is in first person, and it definitely won't be my first choice for reading material.

Same. I was a pretty die hard "no First Person POV!!1" but in the fandom I have been enjoying lately, I have run into quite a few/it's the main stylistic choice for a lit of authors in the fandom. One author does it amazingly well, to the point that her fic is one of my favorites now, so...I have learned to loosen up about it.

I'll read first person fic for books that are written in first person already, or where the narrative style of whatever the source material is lends itself to first person. I don't hate it for other stuff, but it doesn't always feel natural.

I think it's because for 1st person you really need a narrator who feels like the type of character who would tell their story to someone else/write it down or something. And that's just...not most characters in most fandoms IMO especially for things like action/adventure stuff.

I'm sorry but Bakugou as a narrator is simply not believable at all.
