As someone who loves both Discworld and many versions of Phantom (but definitely not the 2004 movie or Butler), there’s nothing wrong with that. Although Walter is probably funnier if you get who he’s based on.

Michael Crawford’s (original ALW stage phantom) character, Frank Spencer, in a British sitcom called Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, who was a total doofus. Crawford was mostly known for playing him when the musical opened and it was kind of a shock that his phantom ended up a sex symbol because, well, doofus.
