Michael Crawford’s (original ALW stage phantom) character, Frank Spencer, in a British sitcom called Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, who was a total doofus. Crawford was mostly known for playing him when the musical opened and it was kind of a shock that his phantom ended up a sex symbol because, well, doofus.
