It's one of The Witch books, but there's very little you actually need to know about the characters and you can pick it all up pretty easily from the book itself. It's The Witches going to Ankh Morpork. It doesn't really rely on previous knowledge, although it wouldn't hurt.

If you wanted to read Wyrd Sisters and then Lords and Ladies first, those are really first-rate books as well. The other Witches books aren't bad but are not quite as strong.
