I just found out that Zac Bertschy, one of the bigwigs at Anime News Network died recently. I remember his columns from way back in the day from when I used to follow the site for news on my favorite shows. This has always been a toxic place, they run their forums like nazis, and my only memories of this guy are negative ones. He used to say things like, "Don't you get tired of anime and just want to read a book?" All I remember from his reviews were him shitting on my favorite shows, and generally acting like he disliked the vast majority of the anime out there. I always wondered why he worked there, if he hated anime so much. He was such a jerk, that I can't even bring myself to feel sad for the people who worked with him. Honestly, of all the shitting things going on right now, I can't feel anything for him at all.
