I'm not pro or anti this ship, ultimately I don't care as it does nothing for me. I agree the conversation can be annoying from both sides.

But the thing that confused me was the question of "canon" because if that was the way one of my fave ships was made apparently canon, I'd be pissed off. But maybe that's because I'm bored of redemption = death personally. And tbh there wasn't much in the way of a spark there for me, it came across more as comforting a dying man.
